Ward 18 Communities Empowered on Veld Fire Prevention
As part of ongoing efforts to combat veld fires across the district, a fire awareness programme was successfully held yesterday in Ward 18, covering Oreti Primary School, Runyararo Village, Magarasadza Village, and Chimurenga Village.
The outreach programme brought together learners, community members, and local leaders to discuss practical ways of reducing fire incidents during the fire season. Emphasis was placed on the importance of community vigilance, proper fireguard maintenance, and collective responsibility in protecting lives, property, and natural resources.
Through such engagements, communities are being equipped with knowledge and skills to become active participants in preventing veld fires and safeguarding their environment.
Working together for a fire-safe and environmentally sustainable district.
