  • Intrusive thoughts....

    Something is broken.

    Global Truths....
    - Globally, women's football sponsorship grew 53% in three years.
    - Women's elite sports revenue is projected to hit $3 billion in 2026.
    - Serie A Femminile alone saw a 600% jump in commercial deals.

The money is everywhere except where it's needed most.

Our league is still fighting for basics. A three-month deal here, a rebrand there, players carrying the game on their own backs between cheques.

That's not a funding gap it's a model failure. Traditional sponsorship treats women's football as a smaller, cheaper version of the men's game: pay less, expect a logo, walk away when the "brand awareness" numbers don't excite the board.

That model was never built to work for us, and it hasn't.

What actually works elsewhere isn't charity, it's partnership brands embedded in building the audience, not just renting space on a shirt. Data sharing. Co-created content. Investment tied to growth, not a one-off invoice.

If you're a brand looking at ZWPSL and only seeing a badge to slap your name on, we're not the right fit. If you're looking to build something with genuine upside as this game grows in Zimbabwe and across Africa, we're exactly the right fit.

We're not asking for a handout. We're offering a stake.

  • Zimbabwe and Women's Football

We often say women's football needs more support. Maybe. But I think what it needs first is more **visibility**.

If people don't see it, they can't follow it.
If they don't follow it, they can't become fans.
If there are no fans, where does the commercial value come from?

We're sitting on incredible stories every single weekend. Talented players. Passionate clubs. Communities that care. Yet so much of it disappears after 90 minutes.

The beauty of today's game is that we don't have to wait for television anymore. Every club has a platform. Every player has a voice. Every supporter has the power to introduce women's football to someone who has never watched it before.

A digital footprint isn't about chasing likes. It's about creating a trail that people can follow. Every post, every highlight, every interview and every matchday moment is another opportunity for someone to become a fan.

Women's football in Zimbabwe doesn't need to be discovered.

    It needs to be seen.

That's how conversations become communities, communities become audiences, and audiences become a sustainable
    game.

  • Women's football continues to be boxed into two conversations: empowerment or gender equality.

What if we've been asking the wrong question?

The real game changer isn't whether women's football deserves a seat at the table...it certainly does.

The Question is: HOW do we build a product that people can't stop watching?

    Sponsors follow fans.
    Broadcasters follow fans.
    Investment follows fans.

Empowerment starts the journey. Equality keeps the door open. But sustainable growth? That belongs to the fan.

The future of women's football won't be defined by comparisons with the men's game. It will be defined by creating its own identity, its own audience and its own value.

Maybe it's time we stopped asking how to support women's football and started asking how to make it unmissable.

    Thoughts???
