GLOPRESS UPDATE 📢 Zimbabwe Independence Day — April 18, 2026 Tomorrow Zimbabwe celebrates 46 years of independence. Main celebrationswill be held at MAPHISA Open Space, Matobo District, Matabeleland South. The venue was chosen to honor the legacy of the late Vice President Dr Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo, a founding father of the liberation struggle who hailed from the district. It’s also part of the Government’s rotational system to promote development and unity across all provinces. Across the country, different provinces, towns, and cities are also gearing up with their own celebrations — musical concerts, community parties, and food festivals marking the day.
