The screening will take place on 9 July 2026 as part of the global AI for Good initiative convened by the International Telecommunication Union [ITU]. Titled “Where Tradition, Wine and Wilderness Unite Us”, RUM & ROOTS is set in rural Hwange, Zimbabwe. The film follows Zuri, a Black American explorer, and Tinashe, a young villager reviving his family’s traditional baobab winemaking. It explores themes of heritage, identity, and ancestral memory — blending Zimbabwean storytelling with AI-driven filmmaking.
