City of Masvingo holds Standard Operating Procedures Workshop
The City of Masvingo today held a Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) workshop aimed at strengthening Council efficiency, enhancing accountability, and improving service delivery across all Council departments.
The workshop brought together Council management, section heads, supervisors, and key personnel to review and standardise operational procedures in line with modern local governance practices and the City’s strategic objectives.
Speaking during the workshop, Chamber Secretary, Mr Vitalis Shonhai underscored the importance of having clear and effective operational systems within Council.
He noted that Standard Operating Procedures are essential in promoting professionalism, consistency, transparency, and efficiency in service delivery.
“The development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures ensures that Council operations are guided by clear frameworks that improve coordination, accountability, and responsiveness to residents’ needs,” he said.
The workshop focused on strengthening internal systems, streamlining communication channels, clarifying departmental roles and responsibilities, and enhancing compliance with governance and administrative standards.
The SOP framework will assist employees in executing duties efficiently while ensuring uniformity in operational processes across departments.
The workshop also provided a platform for participants to share best practices, identify operational gaps, and recommend improvements to existing procedures.
