Shape the Future of Finance.
Across our country, many women have worked hard, saved diligently and built businesses — yet too often feel underserved or disconnected from the financial institutions meant to support them. Questions of trust, access, ownership and relevance continue to shape how we experience banking today.
At Co-op Pay SACCO Society, we are building a different kind of institution — one that responds directly to these realities.
A SACCO (Savings and Credit Cooperative) is not just another financial institution. It is a member-owned, member-driven ecosystem where the depositors are the owners and the benefits flow back to the very people who sustain it. This model restores something powerful that has been missing in modern banking: control, transparency and shared prosperity.
As Chairperson, I have taken on this role as part of a broader journey — one that has moved from advancing financial inclusion to building the next layer of the financial system: access to capital, ownership and long-term wealth creation. Through our partnership with the Cooperative Debentures Exchange (CDE), we are creating pathways for cooperators to participate not only in saving and borrowing, but also in investment and capital markets.
The Cooperator Account: A New Era of Retail Banking
At the heart of this transformation is the Cooperator Account — a flagship offering designed for today’s economic environment.
This is more than an account. It is a financial empowerment tool that integrates:
- Smart savings and investment opportunities
- Access to cooperative-backed credit and Buy Now Pay Later facilities
- Participation in commodity-backed and cooperative-based investments
- The ability to save individually and collectively
- A gateway into the broader cooperative economy
The Cooperator Account reflects a shift in thinking — from transactional banking to participatory finance, where your money does not sit idle, but actively works within a system you are part of and benefit from.
A Strong, Professional Foundation
Let me be clear: Co-op Pay SACCO Society is not informal or experimental. It is being built on a solid foundation of governance, technology, regulation and compliance, aligned with the standards expected of modern financial institutions.
We are establishing systems that are robust, transparent and scalable — with the ambition to stand alongside respected financial institutions not just locally, but internationally.
And this is where you come in.
A Call for Professional Women
We are inviting professional women across Zimbabwe — accountants, risk managers, IT specialists, marketers, legal professionals, administrators and more — to:
- Join the SACCO as members
- Apply for operational roles within the institution
These roles are structured to be part-time and flexible, allowing you to contribute meaningfully while maintaining your current employment or business commitments.
As an operational member, you will:
- Gain hands-on experience in building a next-generation financial institution
- Contribute to real impact in women’s economic empowerment
- Be part of a values-driven, professionally governed cooperative
- Strengthen your leadership and strategic experience in finance and development
Remuneration is provided through honorariums, funded from member contributions and SACCO-generated revenues — ensuring sustainability while rewarding contribution.
The Power of the Cooperative Economy
One of the greatest strengths of our model is the circular economy we are building.
Within the SACCO:
- Members buy from each other
- Members trade with each other
- Members finance each other
This creates a powerful internal market that:
- Drives income growth
- Strengthens businesses
- Keeps value circulating within the community
It is not just about access to money — it is about creating ecosystems of opportunity.
Supported by Capital Markets
Through our relationship with the Cooperative Debentures Exchange (CDE), the SACCO is not operating in isolation. We are connected to a broader capital market platform designed specifically for cooperatives.
This means:
- Greater access to funding for growth
- Opportunities for members to invest
- A pathway to scale beyond traditional limitations
We are building a complete financial value chain — from savings and credit to investment and capital raising.
Make Your Mark
This is more than an invitation — it is an opportunity to be part of something transformative.
We are not just creating another financial institution. We are redefining banking, restoring ownership to members and building systems that work for women — practically, sustainably and at scale.
If you are a professional woman who wants to:
- Grow your impact
- Expand your experience
- Contribute to a meaningful financial revolution
- And be part of shaping the future of banking in Zimbabwe
Then I invite you to join us.
Together, let us build an institution we are proud to own — and a financial future that truly belongs to us.
