@DocMari
I am Dr. Mandas Marikanda, the Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank (ZWMB). My passion lies in advancing financial inclusion, especially for communities that have been excluded for too long — rural populations, disadvantaged groups, and, most importantly, women. For over 20 years, I have dedicated my career to designing and implementing innovative financial solutions that create real opportunities for women and youth.
From group savings models to developmental microfinance and creative lending initiatives in rural communities, my work has always been guided by one goal — to make finance practical, accessible, and empowering. As a seasoned consultant and accredited trainer for the ICT/ILO “Making Microfinance Work” program, I’ve had the privilege of equipping others with tools that turn ideas into sustainable impact.
My journey has also taken me beyond Zimbabwe’s borders — through World Vision and Pundutso Microfinance, I have contributed to projects in Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland, and Zambia, all focused on entrepreneurship, employability, and financial empowerment for women and youth.
I hold a PhD in Economic Empowerment and Microfinance from Aldersgate College in the Philippines, an MBA from Eastern University (USA), and an Honours degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Zimbabwe.
Through the allWomen.africa platform, I am deeply committed to helping every woman gain the confidence to invest, grow, and own her financial journey. Together, we are building an inclusive economy — one woman at a time.
