The platform empowers women, entrepreneurs, and communities by providing secure, transparent and flexible loan options tailored to different financial needs — from personal development to business growth. Through ZWMB Credit, applicants can easily apply online, track their loan status and manage repayments, all in one place. Our mission is to promote financial independence and inclusion by ensuring that every woman in Zimbabwe has access to affordable financing opportunities that help her achieve her goals.

Borrowing simple, secure, and accessible to everyone

Repayments can be made through mobile money, bank transfer, or at any ZWMB branch. You can also track and manage your repayments directly through the ZWMB Credit platform.

Once all required documents are submitted, most applications are processed within 48 to 72 hours, depending on verification and assessment.

Any individual or registered business, especially women and women-led enterprises, can apply for ZWMB Credit loans, provided they meet the bank’s eligibility and KYC requirements.

Head Of Retail Banking

Clarah is a multi-skilled banker with over 18 years of managerial experience in retail banking and operations. She began her career at Barclays Bank, rising from junior clerk to branch manager, and later served as Cluster Manager at Steward Bank and Head of Banking at Success Microfinance Bank. With expertise in business development, operational risk management, and retail and credit strategies for personal, micro, and SME clients, she brings broad industry insight. Clarah holds a Degree in Counselling (ZOU), Diplomas in Banking (IOBZ), Marketing (LCCI), and Microfinance (HIT), and is pursuing an MBA.

Axilia Chikava

Head of Credit

Axilia is a Certified Expert in Microfinance and SME Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Germany, with over 15 years’ experience in banking and microfinance. She specializes in risk management, MSME financing, and development finance consulting. Passionate about financial inclusion, she has supported banks and MFIs in lending strategies, product design, and staff and client training. As Head of Credit at the Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank, she helped establish its credit department, products, and lending models. She holds a BCompt from UNISA, is an ACCA member, and is pursuing a Master’s in Leadership in Development Finance.

Barbara Muyengwa

Head of Marketing and Public Relations

Barbara Muyengwa is a banker and marketer with over 15 years of management experience in the financial sector. She worked with ZB Bank, ZB Finance, and Trust Bank, specializing in marketing, business development, and private banking. She holds a Bachelor’s in Marketing, a Diploma in Banking, and an MBA. Formerly General Manager at Julie Whyte, she was instrumental in establishing the Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank and is passionate about women’s empowerment.

Dr. Mandas Marikanda

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Mandas Marikanda, CEO of the Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank (ZWMB), is passionate about financial inclusion for rural and disadvantaged women. With over 20 years’ experience in microfinance and entrepreneurship development, she has led initiatives in group savings, rural lending, and youth empowerment across Southern Africa. A former Executive Director of Pundutso Microfinance (World Vision partner), she holds a PhD in Economic Empowerment and Microfinance (Aldersgate College, Philippines), an MBA (Eastern University, USA), and an HRUP (Hons) from the University of Zimbabwe
