VOTE OF THANKS
_Courtesy of RUM & ROOTS CREW_
On behalf of the entire RUM & ROOTS family, we extend our deepest gratitude.
To the *OMNI AI Film Festival* and *UNSW Sydney x FOUNDERS* for creating a global stage where African stories are heard and honored.
To *Zuri* — The Filmmaker — for picking up the camera when the world tried to erase the past.
To *Tinashe* — The Wine Maker — for fighting to reclaim a stolen birthright, one claypot at a time.
To *Donhodzo* — Keeper of Nhaka Baobab Harvest Wine — your hands hold memory, medicine, and resistance. Through drought, grief, and silence, you kept the roots of your people alive.
And to the memory of *Shana* — in a season of hunger you made a hard choice. Today your son walks the wilderness to restore the family name.
To every crew member, family member, and supporter in Zimbabwe and across the diaspora who believed in this story of tradition, wine, and wilderness — tatenda, thank you, siyabonga.
This screening on Thursday, 30 July 2026 at UNSW Sydney is not just for us. It is for every family fighting to bring its legacy home.
From Harare to Sydney, we are proud to represent Zimbabwe on the global stage.

"Hello everyone, and welcome back. In the following days I will share with you snipets from mini nbooks from my brand Us to You.
Today, we explore one of my favorite statements when sharing about money: 'Mari idera inotevera ane idea'—which means money is not so clever, it only follows someone who has a good business idea.
So often, we feel limited by what we don't have, but the truth is, your unique spark, your passion, and your innovative vision are the real drivers of success. When you focus on creating value, the resources will follow. Keep dreaming big and know that your ideas have the power to change your world.
It is sad that some people get hurt when they fall victims to scams and lies disguised as money making m
achines.
So many women have traded their bright futures with the hopo of being kept, exchanging beauty love for economic security with horendous results.
Money does not follow a certain Gender, certain skin color or tribe.

National Costume Explained
The Bridal Veil
The Bridal Veil is a tribute to the timeless beauty, strength, and resilience of Bridal Veil Falls in Chimanimani, Zimbabwe. Inspired by one of the country’s most iconic natural landmarks, this costume celebrates the falls’ graceful, uninterrupted flow while honoring their remarkable story of survival.
The design reflects the aftermath of Cyclone Idai, which devastated Chimanimani in 2019, forever changing the surrounding landscape. Massive rocks and boulders, dislodged by the storm, now rest around the falls as enduring reminders of the destruction that once threatened this natural wonder. Yet, despite the devastation, Bridal Veil Falls remained standing, its waters continuing to cascade with elegance and purpose.
Like the people of Chimanimani, the falls embody resilience. They continue to provide fresh, crystal clear water that sustains the surrounding communities and sustain the rich vegetation, and support the survival of the region’s wildlife, symbolizing hope, renewal, and the enduring power of nature.Though their existence was once threatened, the falls continue to give life, demonstrating that even after great adversity, beauty and strength can endure.
The flowing waters of the gown represent the endless cascade of the waterfall, while the textured elements symbolize the rugged rocks surrounding the Falls. Together, these features tell a story of perseverance, remembrance, and rebirth.
In this Artwork, we celebrate the Totem called “Dziva from Zimababwe with the totem laudatory epithets which connects them to their gods, ancestors, bloodline, spirituality and their environment.
The Bridal Veil Gown is more than a costume. It is a celebration of survival, a tribute to the resilient spirit of Chimanimani, and a reminder that true beauty is not only found in grace, but also in the strength to keep flowing despite life’s greatest challenges.
